Of course the real reason you’ve come to Saltburn is to go to the seaside. Saltburn offers a beach unrivalled in the North East of England. It’s golden sands stretch for 6 miles from Saltburn to the mouth of the Tees. And the sea offers one of the best surfing spots in the North.

The Pier's Iron-Screw Piles and Wooden Supports

At 1100 ft long, Saltburn Pier is the last remaining pier on the North-East coast. Whether you just want to stroll along the pier, promenade as they used to; fish from it’s end; or walk amongst its iron struts; you’ll be sure to have fun. To read more about the pier click here.

Saltburn Cliff Lift

Saltburn's Funicular Cliff Lift

This oldest operating funicular cliff lift in the UK. It’s open from 11:00 till 17:00 daily during the season. So ride in style down to the seafront from as little as 50p for 3-16 year olds and those 60+ and £1 for all other adults. Read more about the cliff lift by clicking here.

Don’t forget to see the Saltburn Gill Nature Reserve, the Grade II listed Saltburn Railway Viaduct, the remains of the Ha’Penny Bridge or the Mortuary.
